Moving a Log Note

HawkSoft enables you to copy a log note from one policy or client to another, and then void the log note on the original client, if needed. This is useful when documentation is accidentally entered into the wrong client or policy. This article explains how to move a log note from one policy or client to another.

  • Log notes can be moved one at a time. It is not possible to move multiple log notes at once.
  • Linked log notes can move with the log note from one policy to another on the same client.
  • Linked log notes cannot be moved together from one client/policy to another client/policy. If you move a log note that contains a link to another log note, the link is broken. The linked log notes need to be moved individually. See Linking Log Notes for more information.
  • Log notes that contain a client tag can only be moved with the log note from one policy to another policy on the same client.
  • Log notes that contain a client tag cannot be moved from one client/policy to another client/policy.
  • Log notes, attachments, and tasks cannot be restored on the original client/policy once they have been moved and voided.
  1. Open the Client associated with the log note.

  2. Find and open the log note.

  3. Click the three-dot menu in the lower left.

  4. Select Move Log.
The Move Log warning dialog opens.

  5. In the warning dialog, review the message and click Move Log to confirm.

  6. Choose the destination:

    • To move the log to a different tab within the same client, click Use Current Client.

    • To move it to a different client, enter search criteria, click Search, select the target Client, and click OK.

The Select a Policy dialog opens.

  7. Select the target policy or client tab.

  8. Click OK.
A confirmation message appears, and the log is moved.

To create a log note for this action, open the log note, and then select +Quick Log.
