Report Recipe: Policy coverage report

This article provides a step-by-step guide to running a report for policies in a line of business that are missing or include a selected coverage. See Report Recipes for a list of more guides to running particular reports.

Once you run your report, the following articles will help you leverage the data: Customize, Summarize, and Filter Report Data and Saving and Sharing Report Data.

Report of policies containing or missing a specific coverage

To quickly create this report:

  1. Run a Coverage Description Quick Report.

    1. Open Quick Reports.

    2. Click + New Report.

    3. Select the Policy category, and choose Coverage Description Report.

      1. Optional: Change the Report Title, as desired.

      2. Select the relevant LOB from the drop-down, for example AUTOP.

      3. Select the desired coverage from the drop-down menu, for example Comprehensiveor Glass.

    4. Click Run Report.

A detailed report of all policies with the selected LOB opens in a new browser window. This report contains Limit, Deductible and Premium columns for the selected coverage.

  2. Summarize the report by limit, deductible, or premium to find policies missing the coverage.

You can summarize by the limit, deductible, or premium of any coverage you selected when running the report.

    1. Click Summary, then select one of the columns for the coverage you are looking for from the drop-down and click Summarize.

The best column to summarize by will depend on the specific coverage, the policy the coverage is on, and the carrier.

Review the report results. The report displays active policies grouped by the column you selected for summary (limit, deductible, or premium).

    2. Locate the blank/empty entry under the limit/deductible/premium column and click the policy count next to that entry.

A detailed report opens showing only the policies missing information in the selected coverage column.

To see only policies containing the coverage instead, select all rows on the summary except the blank/empty row, then right-click the report and choose New Report From Summary.

You now have a report containing active policies for an LOB that are missing the selected coverage limit, deductible, or premium based on your summary choice.

From here, see Customize, Summarize, and Filter Report Data, Saving and Sharing Report Data, and Batch Actions from Reports to leverage the data in your report.
