Inserting a New Active Policy
HawkSoft enables you to insert monoline and package policies. Depending on the selected lines of business, relevant screens and fields are available for all of the policy details.
This article describes how to insert a policy for an existing customer and how to create a new customer with a sold policy.
For information about inserting a prospect policy, see Insert a Prospect: Sales Pipeline.
It is best practice to enter new policies as prospects if they are not yet a bound policy with your agency.

If the policy state is correct and the Prospect carrier is still the only one available, your agency may need to add that state to your carriers in Carrier/MGA Setup.
If the carrier downloads the policy information, most of the fields will be updated. See Carrier Downloads Overview to learn more about downloads and how to automate Download Tasks to create a reminder to review your policies after a download updates the policy information.
The Status of the new policy defaults to New or Prospect depending on your General Settings. Since the policy is already sold, change the Status to New.
